Waitlist keeps waiting

Recently checked EF and noticed same award booking class availability on flight which I'm being waitlisted; so I login to CX to double check with a new search for award ticket for the same flight and booking class.
Wow, I was surprised that I could issue ticket from there while my waitlist booking still being waitlisted...

Been reported on here before- think when award space becomes available, waitlists only clear once a day or so (anyone know?) when the system does a sweep of the waitlists - so, in between anyone could take the available award space..

I've seen that where the waitlist waits and waits, and then expires. Right after expiration I go back and try to book the exact same ticket, and voila it's available.

Well... I had waitlisted on the same flight and award class for several other dates (next day and previous day, etc.); while waiting I created seat alert and also searched EF everyday and about a week ago, EF showed available seats for all the dates I waitlisted, login to CX to confirm my first choice but didn't remove myself from waitlist on the other dates. On next day after confirming, I checked EF and CX again that award class still available for the other dates, but CX didn't sms, email, or move my status... and unitl today I'm still on the waitlist for the other flights...
