Glad to report that the popular clay pot rice is back on the F menu. This is being featured as the second main choice under the Chinese Favourite menu.

FYI Krug 2004 is back on my flight; that is probably the only highlight out of the entire menu. CX F catering is seriously behind the competition.

New catering on CX841
I flew CX841 on 12 Dec from JFK to HKG. New catering and other soft product upgrades. Food was excellent, both western and Chinese meals. A noticeable improvement over the "old" food. New bedding is great. A pleasant surprise to have it on the flight.

BOS had Krug both ways, Tattinger comtes ex-BOS. Talked to crew about it and they commented that many pax prefer Tattinger on the ground, Krug in the air. I would agree.
Food meh as usual. Ex BOS, the lobster dish was so bad that the crew made a comment to let them know if it's okay when they served. They were right - it wasn't ok. Switched to filet and it was fine, good with the Lynch-Barges.
Snacks - meh as usual. Only highlight of catering is the wine. Pretty good. Liquor was meh; I didn't bother with it. Would it kill them to have one good whiskey? Mini bottles if they must.

Coming off CX840, I'm pretty impressed with the new catering and service flow.
The roasted corn soup was poured seat side and along with the molten chocolate and pear cake was excellent.
You can see the all-new service items below, including the beautifully printed menu in hunter green.

The truffle flavour didn't transfer to the dish so overall it was good but unremarkable. Clay pot rice at 35,000ft is a novelty so I hope they keep rotating the varieties.
Correct. Very elegant presentation and seeing the quality, I added a pinch of each to the claypot rice.
