Hi all Asia Miles newbie here, been playing around and apparently I have enough to redeem a long haul CX flight! Was hoping to redeem for April but all the flights seem to be either full (? it's grey so I can't select them) or I'll be placed on the waitlist.
My question is: what happens if I'm placed on the waitlist? When will I know if my flight has been confirmed or not? I'd have to book accommodation after the tickets have been confirmed so I'd like to know how much time I'd have to search, plan, and book. I've read some pages where they talk about MPC and higher tiers getting all the tickets, I'm not too sure if I'm even MPC if I'm honest...
Would appreciate any and all replies as I'm just a recent graduate hoping to have a free flight to check out universities for my masters next year! Many thanks in advance everyone!

If they are not available now, then they will probably not start release until 35-40 days before the flight. Occasionally some open prior to that. Busy travel times and busy travel routes mean less availability. Sometimes none at all.
