Club news - Self-rebooking service
Giving you greater control of your journey when delays or cancellations are likely.
We understand the impact that flight delays and cancellations have to your travel plans. That’s why we are pleased to be launching our new, automated flight re-booking service – a new function available for you and all Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon customers. This service allows you to have greater control over your journey and re-book yourself in the event of a disruption, such as an approaching typhoon, volcanic activity or a snow storm.Should you be impacted by a likely delay or cancellation, you will receive a special ticketing guidelines email from us advising you to rebook your flight through our virtual assistant, Vera, to connect to our newly launched self-rebooking service.With this new service, Vera will guide you through the procedures for rebooking your flight or booking an alternative flight. To help with your decision, flights that meet the original ticket conditions will be highlighted and there will be no charge to rebook.We hope by providing immediate assistance through this new service, we can minimize the stress and impact to your journey. Please stay tuned for further initiatives we are planning in this area.

If it works, great! But I’m anticipating a lot of “your booking could not be changed online. Please contact your reservations office”
You can barely rebook a normal booking online. So faith in rebooking an irrops flight is low.

Like sxc said, if implemented properly, might be useful... but I think with the state of CX IT dept, it will probably fail miserably and create even more stress and anxiety...
Also, I can already see that CX management probably thinking of cutting costs and reducing the number of customer service reps now that they think they have an automated system in place...
