Changing flight on the day

Hello, currently booked on CX530 HKG to NGO via TPE in business. Looked on Expertflyer, CX536 direct to NGO for the same day, business cabin looks quite empty.

Would CX let me swap from 530 to 536 on the day if there are seats available? If they play by the rules, they probably wont, but if I ask really nicely, would there be any chance of swapping?

Thanks.

searching always appreciated. we have countless threads on this, i'm pretty sure including one or two in the first three pages in this forum.

short answer is "maybe", depends on your ticket conditions, the outport, and the operational situation CX is facing that day. far greater discussion in other threads

Just wondering would it increase my chance of changing my flight if we check in at the airport rather than in-town check in? Does the supervisor at the airport has more authority than the staff at the in-town check in? Thanks.
