Lost earring

I dropped an earring on my Cathay Pacific flight from London to Hong Kong. Is there any way of checking if it was found and handed in?

Just follow the instructions for Hong Kong on CX's website:

Thank you. However, as I am currently in Australia and about to go to the UK, I could do with sending an email, or if worst comes to worst, making a telephone call - but can only see an out of hours number....

Maybe worth asking the CX ground staff in HK in transit on your way back to the UK?

If the earring were found, they would have been handed over to ground staff, or if found by the crew, they would have filled in a form and submitted to baggage services. Send an email to them to see if they were located.

most cabin cleaners would hand them over to their supervisor who in turn send them to ground staff. Unless they were dropped in the seat, then send them your flight details for them to check

I would not waste time. An earing might not be readily found in routine cleaning. Use all available methods, including calling, email and anybody you can button hole at HKG.

I wish you luck.

My wife left a power bank in J seat flying TG from BKK to MNL last month and did the appropriate notifications and follow up messages. Never saw it again. Hopefully, you get the earring back.

Best of luck!

Never had experience with CX but with other airlines they're doing usually responsive (forgot a watch on SQ and a phone on EK once)
