Delay advised more than 24hr before flight
Received email from CX early this morning advising flight BKK-HKG tomorrow afternoon has been delayed 2 hours. Is this likely to become earlier and/or should we still go to the airport for the original departure time - it didn’t say so in the email. It just seemed a long way out for advising a 2 hour delay!
thanks

Isn't this nice? People get frenzy if they aren't informed about the delay. It's better that CX is giving their passengers the rightful information about their flights so that their passengers do not have to suffer any inconvenience. It may be due to unavailability of flights at BKK or some other mechanical reason.

Yes it is nice but having experienced delays with other airlines that subsequently revert to being on time I wasn’t sure what to expect on CX. Didn’t want to have to spend ages at the airport and trying to arrange timely multiple pick ups in the city with our friendly local driver.
From what I could deduce it was due to scheduling. The aircraft operating CX653 HKG to BKK came in from Osaka, landed on time at 13:00 when it should have been departing at 12:00 for CX653. Judging by the empty J cabin on 654 others must have moved onto the other flights. We had no need to.
