the coolest reveal is that Vivian has revealed an internal plan to order 55 777-9?!!
This confirms that the current owned 777-300er will be transferred to regional
"The launch of new business class seats for Cathay’s shortest flights will be followed by new first class suites for its longest journeys – specifically on the Boeing 777-9, which will become the airline’s flagship once delivery of the first of 55 jets begins in 2021."
This confirms that the current owned 777-300er will be transferred to regional

Perhaps Ms. Lo was overly optimistic in her mention of the 55 779s, or there number is not exactly 55, or she released information she should not have, or any or all of the above

Other airlines really raised the bar on F class with Suites. Cathay F class is already very impressive, but I think if it's anything short of suite offering it will be a disappointment for F class flyers. The privacy and the luxury it offers is a must for today's F class expectations.
As for the new regional C class. Again other airlines have really raised the bar on regional-C class seats. Cathay better not try to sneak us 2-3-2 configuration seats again. It should be at the very least 2-2-2. As regional lay-flat may not be a must but it should be comfortable enough to good leg rest and wide enough for a truly comfortable travel.

and then you will complain about fares being so high
so why would CX go down that path?

Just because Cathay hasn't figure that out doesn't mean it can't be done.
