I am wondering if it’s because I have used the hold too many times . I have held bookings abt 6 times in a row without finalizing them as I was waiting for a redemption flight to come through (which never did). I don't think this is the reason, even though the Hold the Booking button disappeared for me as well several weeks ago, when I tried to make a dummy booking for a flight in May I could still hold the booking.

But yeah I would suggest to call the reservation office, I think they can hold the booing for you even the button disappeared. Previously they even held the booking for me on the departure date.

Well all, my hold button has reappeared after I travelled on a paid flight. It seems that they ‘punish ‘ you if you had too many holds without seeing one through to conclusion. I am now able to hold a discount eco fare reservation. (So it has nothing to do with class) for the April trip that I had been able to hold, then unable to hold and now able to hold again.
So be warned that there seems to be an unannounced punishment for using ‘hold’ too often .
