Flight Changes w/ fare code HLWSPCL
Hello All,
I want to fly 2 coach revenue seats and 1 AA partner award business seat on CX 873 SFO-HKG on 4/24.
Right now I am have the AA award seat booked on 4/25 due to lack of availability on 4/24, but am hoping to move it to 4/24.
Question is: Which way will it be easier to change the revenue seats if the award comes through/does not come through?
Should I book on 4/25 and change to 4/24 if the award comes through or (visa versa) book on 4/24 and change to 4/25 if the award does not come through?
Basically is 4/24 (Sat 1:30am) more or less likely than 4/25 (Sun 1:30am) to give me trouble when I want to change?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

If you are booking for 3 people total, I recommend you keep everyone on the same plane and on the same dates. Unless flying seperately is okay between the lot of you.
I think the anxiety of hoping for an award seat to open will be unbearable.

CX is restricting the number of award seats made available to its partners. If a flight is full, it might stay full till flight date. Asiamiles and Marco Polo members have the advantage of waitlisting award bookings and hence they get the seats first.
I've known the Marco Polo Club to clear award seats for Diamond members even if there are only a few revenue seats left even.
