CX and BA

The relationship between BA and CX is becoming quirkier by the day. I booked a rtn. flight from Hong Kong to London in March in J -- CX tells me their flights are full they put me on BA. They call back to tell me it would be cheaper if I call BA directly (around EUR 200 cheaper in fact), since I have a connection from LHR into Europe. So I call BA -- who tell me that their flight that day is full and they'll put me on CX flights both ways but charge me the lower BA fare. Go figure.
Next time I'll call BA directly to book my CX flights. Tres mystique, at least to the lay traveller.

Yes, I believe that the relation between CX and BA is rather bad. Recently, I flew CX from AMS-HKG and till now, I have not seen my points credited, when I called BAEC here, they told me that it is normal as they have lots of problems with CX miles as they don't inform BAEC about these flights. So, I guess there is a rather 'bitternote' in the relation between CX and BA...
