Question for MPC
My parents are thinking of joining the MPC. They fly Y class most of the time although they fly quite a lot. However, I want to make sure the sub-classes that they usually fly on quality for Club Miles before it is worth to join. I looked into CX's website but they just say for sub-classes qualification, please refer to Terms and Conditions. However, I couldn't find the T&C on the website. So, can anyone advise me which Y and J class sub-classes qualify for Club Miles and which do not. Thanks.

Check out the Terms and Conditions at Asia Miles website under "Air Travel Credits" where you will find all the sub-classes by airline listing.
I have provided a direct link here for your quick reference. I hope this answers your question.

Asia Miles is Cathay Pacific's frequent flyer programme and Marco Polo Club is their recognition programme where you earn your status by flying Cathay Pacific and oneworld airline partners.
I am a member of Asia Miles and Marco Polo Club and have found their services to be excellent. Another good feature of the Asia Miles FFP is the fact that you can use miles to upgrade on Cathay Pacific, British Airways, Swiss Air Lines, China Eastern, Vietnam Airlines, Dragonair, American Airlines and Aer Lingus - an impressive list by all standards.
If you have any further questions, please let us know - more than happy to assist.

I have one small question. Currenly OW Emerald through the AA AAdvantage program. If I also join MPC in which there is a one-time $50.00 fee (is this also true??), will I still be able to be allowed to use CX's lounges by showing my OWA Emerald status, but my tickets will be reflecting basic MPC status?
Some members here on FT are both EXP and MPC Diamond. What's the trick! :-)

Yes of course. Mostly these days I am putting my miles on AAdvantage, but I still use the Diamond card to get me into the F lounge.
You can apparently sometimes get the $50 fee waived if you talk nicely to someone.

As christep says, you can just show your AA card and enter the F class section. Or if you want an invitation, you can check in as AA Emerald, get the invitee and change the FFP number in the recrod to CX's at the lounge or at the gate.
I also didn't pay to join the club. I also heard CX will send MPC cards to those fly a certain amount without them asking.

I am also an invitation member. A welcome kit was sent to me, along with a Silver membership card, even though I didn't meet the requirements for that year.
When I later inquired to the Club service desk, the agent stated that certain Asia Miles members are enrolled in the Marco Polo program and sent membership cards by invitation (as in my case) but was unable to provide any additional information, other than stating that there are no set criteria to receive an invitation.
According to the representative it is stated that I am an "invitation member" in my profile but the status is exactly the same as another other Silver card member. The only benefit was that I did not have to pay the membership fee and was immediately started off as Silver, as opposed to a Green member.
In any event, I have already met the requirements for Silver renewal and am nearing Gold.
Kind Regards,
