Redemptions (from BKK)

Hi guys just need some quick help.

I've just received a notice I have points available to transfer from an Australian credit card I forgot I had. This is the first time I've had a card to offer points transfers into AsiaMiles. I appears I will have around 30,000.
I had a quick look on how AM work, and currently based in BKK now, it looks like I could redeem for a flight such as BKK-HND in J (under 2,500miles according to Great Circle Mapper).
Are my calculations correct? Or am I limited to CX flights only, not partner, such as JAL in my above example?
Are there any great routes that you can recommend from BKK with the 30,000 points?

Many thanks.

BKK-HND is 28xx miles one way, so it is in Zone C. One-way business is 45k and round-trip is 80k. You can use JAL and / or CX since BKK-HKG-HND is still in Zone C.

Oh, is there another website that you use for distances, in regards to Asia Miles redemptions? GCM shows as 2,479 miles.

You should use asiamiles.com or cathaypacific.com to calculate, but in any case GCM quotes 2852 mi for BKK-HND per Great Circle Mapper. Miles calculation by CX might be a bit different but not by much.

Was about to suggest https://www.asiamiles.com/en/afr.html for ideas (under "inspire me") but it seems connections are not searchable. You can, however, verify your idea with the calculator there.
AFAIK CX uses the sum of miles of each sectors of actual routing to calculate, e.g. http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=bkk-hkg-hnd.

For ideas, you may consider:
1. visit both SIN and HKG: http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=bkk-sin-hkg-bkk
2. visit either SIN or HKG in premium economy (24k AM)
3. Fukuoka is the furthest in Japan you can go: http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=bkk-hkg-fuk (KIX is 89 miles into Zone C)

And you can use the oneworld visit Japan (Yokoso) pass to add intra-Japan sectors at 10000JPY+tax/sector (less than 100USD/sector).
