Does CX comp elite status to executives?

Does CX comp elite status to executives (CEOs, CFOs, etc.) of major HK-based listed corporations who only fly on CX maybe 2-4 times a year? Any ideas on the policy and contacts?

I personally know of one person in that category that got comped to Gold (not Diamond). He does fly CX F about once every 2 months but puts his BA FF# on the trip. Not sure how CX tracked him down to give him the comp.

I'm not a CX frequent flier, but if you're flying paid F what is the value of a status comp to Gold?

The company policy is no first class allowed, only business, for ALL employees.

Lucky you - for us and many companies these days the rule is only economy class for all employees, regardless of distance/time.

I think that the criterion for any invitation membership is likely to be not so much the travel of the individual but the travel spending which he is able to direct towards CX. I know this is the way the BA scheme works in HK. Hwoever, since CX is in any case the default or only airline for many routes out of HK the expenditure you could direct to CX would have to be pretty huge before they would consider the invitation.

Wasn't there a guy featured in the last issue of the Club magazine? He was given invitational membership. The guy has flown like over one million miles exclusively in F over a span of 10 years or something. I think he said he parks all the miles in AsiaMiles. I seriously thought he should've gone for AAdvantage.

I know of personally 1 guy who flies CX F
once every 3 weeks and banks all his
miles in AA's acct . He called CX 2 years
running , asking for his CX Diamond card
( for what ? I can't understand...guy always
buy FC and fly FC...for upgrades ? guess not
Anyhow , CX looked in their computer , saw
all his activities ,and comp him Diamond
status. They just asked nicely , that next
time he flies , would he be so kind as to
bank his miles to MPC . !!!

I know a few CEOs of fortune 500 companies and I am quite sure they are quite content in J-from informal conversations. In fact, one top 10 global market cap CEO joked with me that his VPs were often too consumed with trying to fly F internationally if they could not get the corporate jet.
I guess it's just us "working class folks" who really worry about getting into F.
