seat maps vs. availability

OK so I call AA about my OW ticket daily to see if the flight I really want opens up for award booking. AA keeps saying nope nothing available...however checking itn I show FC from SYD-HKG is empty...so what gives? Is CX holding out hoping to have rev passengers step up soon and buy a seat before they release them?

Basically, yes. It is a little worse than that tho, CX and AA award inventory on the same flight is different.

I'm in the same boat, just keep calling AA until something comes available. It's been known to happen a few days beforehand.
