No worries, I rebooked successfully for mid-April. Truth be told, it works out much better in my schedule. But the switch of aircraft was the deciding factor.
If Cathay does this again, I will certainly look into an endorsement to Singapore Airlines, like Michswiss, although the purpose of this trip is to earn OW miles.
