YVR-HKG: Flight time differences
On March 31, CX operates two flight from YVR to HKG.
The flight time for CX 889 is 13:40.
The flight time for CX 839 is 12:25.
Both use 747.
Why the time difference of 1:15?
Thanks.

Hi,
I have just looked at the CX timetable for 31st March.
The Sunday CX889 service is showing up as "EQV"-Equipment varies -all other days it is the 747 and taking 12:20.
I would think it is that on the Sunday 31st March it could be an A340 for example which tends to be slower than the 747 so that over a 12hour flight the flight time is longer.

Hello The Banking Scot,
On the Cathay Pacific US online booking web site, they list both CX 889 and CX 839 as using 747.
I wonder if there is a mistake.
I also wonder if this has something to do with daylight savings time.
Thanks.
