Tips?

Hi all,

I'll be doing Amsterdam-Hong Kong this weekend on Cathay for the first time, I'm BA Gold, could gou give me some tips on getting the most out of this flight (flying business)?

What lounge can I use at HK?

Thanks!

Upon departure from HK, you are entitled to use Cathay's renowned FIRST Class lounge. It will simply blow you away. you'll find out for yourself!

On board, you'll discover why Cathay is slowly creeping up the ladder as having one of the best inflight service around. Certainly in my opinion, better than BA's inflight food and entertainment. Except for seats, which CX will be improving on slowly this year, no other Oneworld carrier comes close.

Enjoy.

i 2nd guy betsy's comments.

in addition,
i suppose you would fly thr' LHR?
if so, for all flights hkg-lhr, they offer free limousine service from airport to downtown. reserve it with BA before you board the plan

You will most probably get a visit from the inflight service supervisor. They normally stop by to say hi and have a chat with Emerald members no matter what class of travel.

I am curious about the limo option -- I am AA Exec Plat and flying 1st from HKG-LHR --does that mean I can get a complimentary limo also -- or is it only good for BA Gold?

Anyone have any seating tips? I think they fly AMS-HK on a 747? Upper or lower deck?

it is for hkg-lhr route only, and all Biz/F class passenger (they said paying full fare, but if you fly A, they sd also give u the lift)...regardless of your tier. they tend to let you find out unless your travel agent alerts you. i think BA provides transport on both city (i.e. pickup and drop off in both cities!!), while cx only have limo for LHR (not for HKG)

Thanks for the tip. Of course, I booked my trip though AA RTW desk -- any thoughts as to how I arrange the pickup though CX -- do I call their reservations #?

Thanks.

yes, call any BA reservation. (or CX in Lon for pickup, depends on what airline you take)
if you only want the lift afer arrival, you can also deal with it while check-in

Hi All,

Thanks for the tips, the in-flight service was as most of you stated perfect, as a change to what I'm used to the ground service was perfect as well (pre assigned upper deck etc...). I especially liked the visit from the CSD (as I was the only one on upper deck to get a visit...)
