Take a look at www.cathaypacific.com. A great description of the new first class seats "BETSY" is available with excellent video clip . Look under INflight services.

The suite looks amazing. I am looking forward to my short trip from TPE to HKG. It definitely worths an upgrade from C class in the near future. I need to save some bucks now. It will be nice to compare it with UA and BA suites too.

What do you think about the new uniforms of CX though?

Best of luck in finding one
Most of the Taipei flights are Airbus or 777
The 777 has no F class and the Airbus cannot be fitted with the new sleeper seats so the Betsy flights are mostly to London I believe at a cost of US 8,100 HKG LHR HKG.

According to the new winter schedule, there will be a couple of Boeing 744 flights, but you can always count on CX 450/451 HKG-TPE-NRT. Anyway, CX first class is always nice...

While you're at it - check out CX's Flight Attendant's new uniforms. Depending on the angle, they either look like Trekkies, or Dim Sum waitresses.

Or as one senior FA said , " We look like walking eggplants."

Agree!!! The CX F/As do not like this new uniform too much. The quality of the uniform is not as good as the original Nina Ricci design. Eddie Lau is a famous designer... However, the men's uniforms look much better than the original colors. The purple suit with a yellow tie... During the trial period, the male F/As are the focus of the whole aircraft. I feel really bad for them. Now the purple color is more subtle and the tie color has changed...

Anyway, CX is not going to install the new First suite on the Airbus A340-300. What is your opinion on it? I think CX needs to install the new first class on the A340s because the F class passengers will simply not fly the A340s for those long-haul flights to SFO, YYZ, FCO, and ZRH. The present suite may be too big, but CX can modify the suite a bit or add an 180 degrees sleeper seat.

What are your comments?

How much more space do the Betsy seats consume than, for instance, the LH seats? I've only had them on the 744, but my understanding is that they fit them on the 340 in a 1-2-1 configuration. A little bit less pitch, apparently, than upstairs on the 744, but I thought they were the same seat. It seems as though they could do it if they wanted.

Maybe it's simply that SQ is only putting them on their megatops? (or is that no longer the case?) And that, to date, they don't have to compete with "suite" seats on most of the non-stops they fly with 340's, e.g., UA to SFO, SR to ZRH, AZ to FCO, AC to YYZ.

I'm not a frequent CX flyer, but I would love to see them come to SFO to pressure UA to get more of their suites more quickly.
