Problem with drinkable water, again

I was on CX104 MEL-HKG on Monday (in the A350) and there was a problem with the water supply which meant no drinkable water was available onboard.

FAs handed out bottled water. No coffee or tea was available.

They also handed out HK$40 gift vouchers on arrival at HKIA - although the vouchers were not much use because they were only valid for the remainder of that day (which only had two hours left).

I experienced the same problem on the same route about 2 years ago, although that was on the old A330.

You could try your luck writing into MPC (assuming you have status), making a fuss, and see if they'll offer you some miles for the trouble.

So last time it was a bacterial problem. This time it's probably a zodiac issue.

Could be cockroach infestation or they promised a family the entire water supply on a single flight 20 years ago.

With only 2 hours left to use the voucher, did they expect you to use them at the 7-11 and airport express counter?

Oh, it didn't inconvenience me too much (could've used a coffee though). I'm not complaining, just noting a maintenance issue. Interesting to see whether this is an ongoing problem.
