Checking in

I am flying BKK to HKG to ORD in First in a couple of weeks.

I have a positioning flight from USM to BKK on a different itinerary.

Do I need to leave security to check in at the CX counter in BKK, or can checking in be accomplished airside?

And will you have checked bags? If so then you'll need to go landside at BKK, get them and recheck them.
