Is CPCS on strike?

Checking in
The agent checking in the passenger across "sorry catering's on strike, so there is only one meal loaded onto your CX749. Here is a catering voucher, please eat before you board."

Wow....I feel bad for the crew...might be less work since there's no meal service but passengers would sure be grumpy...

Omg, and 749 is one of the flights I hate the most (all the effort for ex-JNB!!). Hope he/she's in J!

If it's on strike, why there's still one meal loaded?

Although the pax used J check in, I presumed he's only some GR or OWR travelling on Y/PE tix.

If he's J/OWS/OWE/SL/GO/DM, why bother with the food voucher? Just send him straight to Pier.

I presume the only one comment refers to breakfast but not dinner, not that just one passenger will eat on board.

If meals cannot be loaded, the airline should pass out meal vouchers in accordance with the class of service, regardless of whether the passenger has intention to visit a lounge.

Unfortunately not all restaurants in HKIA accept meal vouchers.

Checked in for HKG ICN flight this morning, no notifications about catering strike?

My flight is delayed though - they did give me $75 food vouchers but told me that almost all of the restaurants would accept just the boarding pass as proof of voucher given the delay.
