Is there an official Minimum Connection Time for CX tickets?

Flying HKG-LHR on CX, transitting in LHR for AY LHR-HEL.

Both CX and AY use T3.

According to KVS, the MCT at LHR is 70 minutes in this situation.

But CX hotline says 90 min.

Is there a way to find a definitive answer?

Thank you.

Even though it is 90mins, I suggest it is better to leave it over 2 hours.
LHR is the worst European airport ever!!! It is always over crowded and the security check is a mess!! Plus, CX flights sometimes delay from HKG to LHR. Or, it is also possible that air traffic of LHR is too crowded and the flight couldnt land on time.

Anyway, when transitting via LHR, always prepare plan B if you lose the connecting flight...

Just wondering why you wouldn't just fly AY ex-HKG as AY is usually cheaper than CX? Is it because you won't earn club miles on the AY ticket?

Thank you.

Long story ... travelling with others and it is in J so the CX product should be better.

I know you don't have a choice but I think AY J class hard product is very competitive these days.

Especially if A350 is deployed on this route the hardware will be identical to CX (until their A350 with FB3 is delivered)

http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Fin...s_A350-900.php

Then the convenience of flying direct plus all our gripes with CX should push us over.

Currently it's the A340 V2 with staggered seats:
