Should I take 12A or 12k or stay put in 14 k ?
See attached
I've no status
Is it possible at this stage a parent and baby could be put there and I booted out?
Flight is this week

Very slim chance of being booted for a baby. I've sat in 12K on many sectors to/from EWR and I've never been booted. However there are a few downsides to 12 A/K. They are close to the lav and galley. It's pretty common for pax and even F/A to forget to close the curtain when crossing. This can be annoying when trying to sleep. Right in front of 12K is a storage compartment between it and the galley. Seems like the water is stored there, so very frequently F/As accessing this compartment. Upside for me is that nobody in front, so "feels" more spacious, again just my personal feeling the seat is same size as all the others. 11 D/G almost always empty helps give me the feeling of space and easy to snag an extra pillow. Also gives me quick access to the lav, another very personal benefit.

There really is no bad seat, besides 11 D/G, in the A359 J cabin. Others can nitpick over partial windows, etc. but none of that bothers me. There have been major complaints about the A359 have been the wear and finish of the cabin and seats when the product was first introduced. Many of those issues seems to have been addressed. I do still find seats misaligned sometimes causing some difficulty in reclining.

J seats on A350 are all very comfortable in my experience, but I wonder there is any difference between A350-900 and A350-1000 PE seats. A350-1000 seems slightly bigger and has a bette recline?

Do all PE seats on the A350 have the footrest, or is it just in the bulkhead as on the 77W?

I wonder why the amenity kits in the pictures look like those handed out in J? I've never received kits like that in PEY.

Interesting. Good catch. I don't know wonder whether this is a promotion picture from CX.

That's just downright unethical. The blogger could care less, in fact he's probably somehow getting paid for that via tracking cookies. And CX doesn't mind the lie as long as they have plausible deniability. Poor form all around.

That blogger in particular.

Having tried the Gogo WiFi on 773 during my last flight, it is definitely superior to the Panasonic WiFi offered on the A350. I usually fly CX890 back to the US, which probably flies a similar route as CX857 (unless it's a rare polar route). I experience issues mid-flight also, where I keep having to re-login and sometimes doesn't work for a spell. It's possible there are some dead spots on the route. I never considered a maximum threshold of users.

Just checked the last week worth of flights on CX857, the only one to take a polar route was the Monday Oct-7 departure. So unless the poster flew on that date, there shouldn't have been any internet blackout on the usual cross Pacific route. When the A350 was first introduced for the EWR flights, and internet service was new, it seemed much better. I have also noticed a degradation of service on the returns to EWR this past year, which hardly ever take polar route. Now I'm starting to think this may be due to Wifi overcrowding as pax have become accustomed to the service.

Yup, the flight was Oct 9. We definitely did not take the polar route. cruised straight across the pacific. According to the ISM, and at first I didn't believe her but now I do, she thought it was due to 65 people being logged in at once and that the system couldn't handle more. Poor planning in this day and age if that's true.

I thought it was just my bad experiences (3) with WiFi on the 350, but WiFi is much slower and sometimes not working compared to my 20+ experiences on the 777

The 777 has faster WiFi and less dead spots. I often go 2-3 hours with no WiFi on the 350

fyi - all flights were on the sfo-Hkg-sfo sectors so there was no polar route or Russian airspace involved

Really!

Has anyone boarded a flight with the amenity kit lined up so close to perfection?

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere or in this thread, but are there plans to retrofit the A359 Economy seats with the seats found on the A35K? I thought I recall hearing complaints about the A359 Economy seating (nowhere as bad as the fixed-shell fiasco, but I just heard they were not comfortable, especially the padding).

No plans for this, the latest -LQ_ series 900s have the same interiors as the first 22.

Separately, ORD looking to go A350 in 2020. Unknown if 35G/35J.
