A350 seat map
We have known the configuration of the A350-900 for some time (38-28-214), but I don't think we have seen the layout. Some dummy bookings on the newly announced LGW route allow this, to some extent:
Business (1-2-1): 38 seats http://i.imgur.com/OkhiVppm.png Premium Economy (2-4-2): 28 seats http://i.imgur.com/BFifBMum.png Economy (3-3-3): 214 seats http://i.imgur.com/04fCFKNm.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/YrAEydOm.png |
Seems like 60A and 60K has no seat in front of it, presumably to account for the door protusion?
|
But wouldn't that put 59A and 59K right in front of the door?
It might be like row 39 on the 77Ws: http://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_H...300er-77g.html |
Slightly OT but does anyone know when they might be starting training flights on the A350?
Thanks |
Crews are already sim trained but delivery of the aircraft IIRC isn't expected now until March. I expect a few days of pre service inspections would be reasonable.
Not sure if empty training flights will be required if the pilots are ex-A330 drivers since a common type rating is possible (though CX isn't going this route). |
I am very disappointed with the configuration of Y+.
I thought it is going to be 2x3x2 not 2x4x2 :td: |

Not surprising. They are called A350 Extra Wide Body, so they have the same configurations as the 777s. That's 3-3-3 in Y and 2-4-2 in PY. But I assume it is still quite a bit narrower than the 777s?

The A350 is almost a full foot narrower than the 777 across the cabin, although by modern day standard, the 777 is too wide for its intended config.
|
or just take airlines that offers more generous seating arrangement. JL on some flights have 34" pitch i am told with wider.seats meaning less abrest.

Yep, I think that the 90's-00's generation of aircraft (9 abreast in 777, 8 abreast in A330, 10 abreast in 380) will be the high water mark for economy class comfort.
Looks to be 9 abreast A350 & B787 and 10 abreast B777X for almost all airlines |
The biggest problem with the industry move to more abreast in Y is the size of the aisles. Anyone in an aisle seat will get continually bumped by people moving down the aisles - it's almost impossible to avoid on some of the higher density aircraft
Do JL still have their 787s in 2-4-2, or have they also succumbed? |

http://www.runwaygirlnetwork.com/201...-airbus-pitch/ ...which you will be able to "enjoy" on Air Cariabes, proudly being the first airline (that I'm aware of) to take Airbus up on their comfy design http://www.runwaygirlnetwork.com/201...t-airbus-a350/ ha but yea, this ultra high density config notwithstanding, you're spot on. the standard going forward is 9 abreast A350/B787, and 10 B777x. Heck, it seems the days of even B77W 9 across economy are behind us especially if CX converts from 9 to 10 across. Already 2/3 of 77W capacity is 10 abreast, and CX is the second-largest operator of the plane behind EK. Assuming 77W sticks around for another 15+ years as the backbone of carriers' fleets, I think it's a matter of time before 77W is 10 abreast everywhere. Alas. Oh, and there's also the 11 abreast (downstairs) A380 config being marketed too. http://www.runwaygirlnetwork.com/201...d-of-customer/ |
