That A380 3-5-3 config looks horrendous. I wonder if it would be viable for a LCC on a very popular route? Buy one of the second hand A380s that will come on the market in a few years, change to all-Y high density config and ferry 850 people between HKG and BKK or something.

OP, can you please update your pictures? Only the EY ones load.

Does anyone have pictures/link to pictures of the new J seats on CX A359? I'm curious how they look like compared with current J seats.

What's more horrendous are the 16 inch wide A350 Y seats that Airbus is touting. Maybe they foresee generation Y getting skinnier :D

You won't find them, FB3 isn't released/leaked yet.

my best guess is it will be some style like QR's new B787/A350 J class or Virgin Australia's new J class. I can't imagine they'd be foolish enough to abandon the bones behind the reverse herringbone concept, right?

I haven't flown Virgin Australia's new product, but for QR's B787 I can say it feels their version of the reverse herring bone feels a little "classier" than CX's. The only thing I feel missing from QR is the raisable armrest/aisle guard that CX has, I really like that feature on CX's J class. It's a small point but I find it makes the seat a lot more 'private' and totally guarded from the aisle when raised. I hope CX incorporates it in the new design. From the pictures I've seen on Virgin Australia's I think they have that too, but can't be sure...anyone flown it?

The seat has been described as "enhanced Cirrus" (http://www.ausbt.com.au/cathay-pacif...-february-2016), so I suspect it will not be revolutionary (which is good, it's a great seat). They will be updating the 77Ws and 333s as well it seems.

"But we’ve listened very closely to areas that people said could be improved, and we’ve focussed on this. So while it should be very familiar to our passengers when it comes out, we hope to have some new touches that they will appreciate”

So it is going to be the same seat but with redefined touches :o

J: So I guess it will be the enhanced 77W version one but likely have a 333 version length... One thing I would like them to "enhance" is the table... if it can be move forward and backward like the F table then will be great

PEY: No PEY toilet again...? But it will be kind of strange that if J occupied the entire section between Door 1 and 2 and PEY doesn't have a toilet... Hopfully PEY will be right behind door 2 and the toilet next to door 2R will become PEY toilet....

Second thought
It would be strange if PEY is right behind door 2 as door 2 will then be above the wing......

So more likely there will be a mini cabin for J like 77G and PEY has no dedicated toilet again....
End

Y: Row 59 I guess will be the same as row 39 on 77G...

I was expecting a new seat from scratch as the current CX C seat is been used by many carriers (AA, QR, US) making CX losing the edge in that advantage.

Attended some consultation previously about FB3, and yes it should be an enhancement of the current Cirrus. They did talk about the table being able to move back and forth. Also the screen being able to tilt, which will be useful when lying down. Nothing confirmed ;)

Totally agree, one of my few complaints about Cirrus J.

Screen tilt is indeed another. Great. Sounds like they know the issues. Again, QR's J class is really lovely (except for missing the aisle protector/armrest). I haven't done Virgin Australia's new one but seen AusBT's extensive review...seems like a similar idea. Taking the reverse herringbone concept and refining it. Originally I thought CX was insane to even bother redoing Cirrus J it's such a solid product...crow being eaten as I watch (and fly on) competitors who are finally getting with the program.

On a side note, boy I remember 7 years ago when I was proactively pushing business to BA when I flew J to LHR (instead of CX), because CX couldn't guarantee you the flat bed. Boy what a difference the flat bed made. Now how times have changed. Back then, CX was rolling out Olympus and it was a crapshoot whether you got Olympus J or the old slanty beds in J. BA at least was guaranteed lie flat. Now, for J flights I have avoided BA long-haul for years....it's the same product in J class they winning my business with against CX's slanty J! That seems eons ago when CX was flying that. BA's J is now a full 2 generations behind.
