New SIN Lounge
Flew out of SIN last weekend, and the Skyview lounge is closed. The replacement lounge is the brand new Dnata lounge. This is located opposite near the food courts, and can be accessed by the escalators near Hermes. At the top of the escalators, turn right, and the lounge would be right in front of you.
I was there for only a short time, but it appears to be an improvement from the old Skyview, except there's no view of the tarmac. I think there is an increase in capacity, and there is a larger selection of food and beverage. It has also taken on a dark/black colour scheme, and while it can appear stylish for some, I'm sure some pax would not like it.
Anyhow, it's really just an intermission before CX's move to T4 in 2017.

New SIN Lounge
Suppose that is what they meant at one of the DM functions in HKG recently about the dire need for improving the CX lounge experience.
Any comparisons with the QF (or even the BA) lounge?

I've not been to the QF or BA lounge so can't offer a comparison to those.
But the DNATA lounge is much better than the Skyview one. It's larger with separate zones and plenty of seating and power ports.
There is a full barista service with Australian waiters (or Kiwi). Sandwiches are wrapped in cling film but for breakfast there were hot options.
The ambience was dark but nice and private. I don't mind the dark but I know one frequent flyer who is just scared of being in dark lounges so he probably wouldn't like it.

From my brief stay there, I would say it's roughly comparable to the BA lounge. However, I haven't seen what it's like during the late afternoon peak hour. AF uses this lounge as well, or at least they are advertising their app inside the lounge. It's quite hard to compare this to the QF lounge, as it's quite a different style.

Definitely better than the old skyview lounge though.

I went straight to the QF lounge last week and didn't even notice Skyview was closed. So it's gone for good, given that it serves airlines other than CX?
I look forward to seeing if the new one is good enough to tempt me out of the QF lounge. The new BA offering certainly isn't.

But then again....sandwiches were wrapped in clingfilm at skyview and there were hot options there also. If its not shared with too many multiple airlines its already an improvement although I hope its much more than that.
Will look forward to try it but keeping my expectations in check for now to be hopefully nicely surprised
