Dragon Air Seating Plan Query

Hi

I am hoping someone can shed some light on a flight we have booked to Da Nang on Tuesday.

We are booked in J from PEK to HKG but had to book Y from HKG as J was not available on the flight. At the time of booking we selected seats and it looked as though there was J seating (2+2) at the front of the plane (rows 11-17) however these were all unavailable.

We have logged into our booking today and suddenly these rows are all free.

Does anyone know whether we are likely to get a business class seat with economy service or is it just a glitch in the system? (Our flight on the way back is showing the same but as yet we cannot select anything at the front).

The plane is showing as a A321

Thanks

My experience: If you see BOTH 2+2 and 3+3 shown as available, then it will be J seat Y service

Earlier this month, travelled on a KA flight operated by a 33R where they had rows 16-18 as economy. They were all occupied at OLCI.

When I went to pick up my BP at the check-in counter, the lady said that I have checked in and was going to give me my BP for row 2X.

I asked whether there are any seats available in rows 16-18, she checked and asked whether I would like a window or an aisle!!!

Booked a flight operated by a 33R for late November yesterday, rows 16-18 are all occupied (unbelievable). Does anyone know if they are blocked and will be released at check-in, or can I call MPC to get one now?

Cheers.

My understanding is they are usually used as op-up buffer. If Y is not full then they will simply keep it empty.

Even you get them before OLCI, they will still put you back to the Y in case Y loading is not as full as they think before... (I had it once few years ago... At least they blocked my next seat for me)

Cheers for the info.

Personally haven't been put back in Y after getting them either at booking/OLCI/counter check-in, and hopefully it won't happen in the future.
