Checking baggage to final destination (separate oneworld itineraries)

In August I'll be going to Hong Kong for a week with my route being:

GLA-LHR-ARN on BA Y (ticket 1)
ARN-DOH-HKG-DOH-ARN on QR/CX J (ticket 2)
ARN-LHR-GLA on BA Y (ticket 1)

On the outbound I have a day in Stockholm so I know there won't be any hassles with checking bags in as I'll be breaking the journey there.

My question is for the return - at HKG will I be able to get my bag checked through to GLA if I show the checkin agent the PNR for my first ticket? In ARN I have around 4.5 hours between flights. Does being OWE make a difference in this matter?

Status shouldn't really matter - but being OWE gets you to the F check in counters, that should have 'better' agents...CX should check in to all interline partners (unlike BA, who will only check through to oneworld airlines on separate tickets).

I've checked in (CX->CX)->LA->TA across three different tickets..took, a bit of time, but got my bags (among the first to pop out!) at LPB, after a SIN-LAX-LIM-LPB hop.

Might help to call the airlines to cross reference both the PNRs/ticket numbers..and keep the e-ticket numbers handy...

I would not rely on PNR's. Have a printout of each relevant e-ticket receipt in hand. It is the ticket # which will create the link and relying on one carrier to track this down on another is prone to error.

Not as complex, but can one check a bag on CX/AA that is HKG-JFK-DCA with a CX ticket + an AA ticket? The wrinkle is that I would like to take the ferry from Macau direct to HKIA. I'm not sure where the bags are actually checked in, at the ferry terminal or at the airport. Are the staff trained for that type of transaction?

I haven't done it, but you should be able to check your bags in Macau for CX departure in HKIA:
