cx crediting to wrong program - whose fault and who to call?

cx crediting to wrong program - whose fault and who to call?

1. i have always specified my QF program as the primary program for CX flights to credit to. Always had no problem.
2. Recently, flight had been crediting this flight to the BA avios program - even though this number was not specified on the booking at all. the only reason why a BA avios number was associated was due to the fact that i linked a BA booking to this flight in the first place.
3. fwiw, boarding passes had my qf number and lounge invites
3. When i call cx online svc centre, and marco polo for that matter, all are saying that this issue is not a CX issue, and to call BA directly.

is this true? i think this could be a cx IT issue as i recall that others had some problems when changing FF numbers?
