It will be her first time on anything better than economy, so I really want to make sure it is smooth of stuff that I can control.

- Is CX playing roulette on this flight? Will it be swapped from 77W to other regional plane?
- Any difference between catering on F to J?
- Can I request for amenity kits if I ask nicely..?

Thanks,
1) for the past few months, CX has been somewhat reliable with regional F...This is due to extra 77H frames laying around right now. Like everything with regional F (except HND, where it is guaranteed), it is reliable and looks predictable.......until it isn't. If I was betting, I'd say CX regional F stays somewhat predictable until a) the next uptick in 77H rotations (late March when BOS gets additional frequencies) or b) some 77H frames are due out of the rotation due to the longer checks or unexpected incidents, like when the catering truck busted up a 77H in Zurich for a while (both situations are unpredictable to us on FT). There's a chance other FTers here know the schedule for CXs long-term checks on the 77W fleet, but I don't. The oldest frames are almost a decade old now.If you could figure the check schedule out you'd have your bases quite well - albeit obsessively - covered! Except for the checks and BOS, there isn't really anything scheduled I can think of which would reduce 77H frequencies regionally.

2) no amenity kits loaded, unfortunately.

3) if it's her first time she'll really appreciate it I think. At a minimum the plating and format is much nicer than J, let alone economy class which she's used to. Have her try the tea.

First Class to Australia

I know for a while CX has never had F cabins to Australia. Are there any plans in the works this year to have a plane going either to MEL or SYD?

Short answer - very unlikely.

Long answer - look at the "CX Routes with First Class?" thread. Specifically, the last few pages.

They had F to AKL and SYD many years ago, i believe it was on the A340. 1-2-1, two rows. I flew them a few times between Europe and down under. After they cancelled F now it is SQ or Emirates.

Moving this thread to the one that has quite a bit of discussion about Australia first class.

Not too many years ago I did an MR HKG-AKL in F with immediate return in a CX 744. Just had time for a quick shower at AKL before reboarding.

Does CX still operate first class on intra-Asia routes?
I am looking for F seats from HKG to either SIN or BKK in October but can't seem to find any flights where F is being sold...

Yes they do but it's not guaranteed, and is also subject to aircraft switch.

Looking at the published schedule beginning end Oct 17, there is a once daily 77W flight from HKG-CGK (and presumably return, though I haven't checked that) with F. Its the daytime flight and its listed consistently every day from late Oct.

I am booking a flight BKK-HKG and just noticed F is available leaving 19:10 arriving 22:50
I have a flight HKG-YVR leaving at 1:00 am.
Is this enough time between flights?
Does this route get swapped a lot?

Any regional destination can get swapped. At the same time, the aircraft doing your BKK-HKG flight can end up doing the HKG-YVR flight too.

As far as enough time between flights, even if your flight gets in late, you'll have ground staff waiting at the gate to help you out.

- Do i still get access to the Pier ( First class lounge ) if we get placed down from F to J ?

Thanks
I'm also curious about this!

But this could be the 77W with no F, like the one that serves JNB...?

According to Expertflyer, CX 776/777 has F & A class inventory. I would say that is as reliable as it gets.

It's also bookable on CX website in November whereas earlier dates return a message no First class available.
