I Am Silver!
My strategy of putting two Marco Polo luggage tags on my carry on seems to have worked as I am now Silver! Two questions:
1. Does this mean I have access to the business class lounges even when flying PE?
2. Will they send me new Silver luggage tags or do I need to request them?
Thanks!

1. Yes.
2. They'll send them automatically.

I am very wealthy, drive a BMW, have premier status on other major carriers, but am starting from the ground-up on Cathay Pacific due to changes in my company. Cathay must know of my wealth as they sent me two luggage tags as a special gift, even have aluminum backing and screw-down straps, but they are Green and so the thought was to put both tags on the bag so that airport staff would know who they're dealing with.

Regardless, if you have "premier status on other major carriers" then you can certainly write them to ask for a status match.

Completely OT -- I just received a surprise: complimentary upgrade from newbie Green to Silver status.
Back in July/Aug, I fly RT JFK/Bkk in J class, signed up for Marco Polo Club and instead of crediting my AA account used my Asia Miles account. This was to take advantage that CX had a triple miles promotion. The RT earned me 60K+ Asia Miles which my sons can use for regional flights.

Should we introduce this gentleman to the woman on BA who was upset about not being addressed as "Doctor"? Seems like a match made in heaven.

How does one get a status match? Send an email saying I am a certain level on another carrier and require their support in grandfathering me in?
I'll give that a try, great advice, thanks.

That is how I talk amongst other wealthy people discussing their status in mileage program forums. In real life, like at a McDonald's, I just flash the iPhone 6, the BMW keyfob, and the Rolex, don't really need to talk at all.

Just write to MPC and show them your other FFP status. Or if you like, you can talk in the same way and attach your bank balance too

That's your definition of wealthy? iPhone 6, BMW, and Rolex? Most importantly fly in PE only? I would only classified you at middle class at its best. If you are wealthy enough, CX would most likely know who you are and you wouldn't even have to ask for a status match IMHO.

Oh, and don't disturb my sleep in F class. I don't want any meals. Just let me sleep.

I love the way that a disproportionate amount of Hong Kong residents end up losing their sense of humour and interpreting everything literally!
It's a troll, folks... if you're going to waste your time responding, at least try to do so in an amusing way rather than at face value!

One is not trolling if it is truly how one behaves. Meet me at the Cathay Pacific business class lounge at JFK next Monday and you will see.
I reached out to Cathay and the Marco Polo team and they are doing their best to get me my new Silver tags by the time my flight departs. Having my bags green tagged would be inappropriate for someone at my level.
