Can't make this up, I called some time ago asking for 4 luggage tags because this past summer trip all 4 old tags were torn apart, literally. Today in the mail I got MPO membership card. No it's not a "congratulations you made it another year" renewal, but a replacement card. As I'm typing this I'm on hold with MPO DM line for 10 minutes and it's 5:45 a.m. here EST/USA, this is my second attempt as my first attempt was on hold for 15 minutes until someone named "Raymond" picked up, said "Hi I'm Raymond", and got disconnected.

Amazing

So you got charged $20 for the wrong thing, will they send you the correct two replacement set of tags at no charge or do they make you pay for it?

Don't think CX charges for bag tag if you insist that you lost it on a recent CX / KA trip, at least for DM and GO.

You can order the tags online (up to 3 sets = 6 tags). There is no fee for DM.

Saves time explaining to the agent why I need 3 sets (because they get damaged from frequent traveling!)

Also saves them confirming with me my mailing address.

Wow, I did not know that. Thanks Psychiatrist! Those tags are so easily bend and even split! I almost cut my hands when I try to get my bags out of conveyor belt and the tag was split open with a sharp edge that scratched my hands leaving a deep scratch mark. Could be a lot worse.

Why doesn't MPO give nice plastic ones. Much cheaper than metal ones no?

It's under "Redeem your Asia Miles" - the last item is "Request replacement baggage tags".

Up to 3 sets (= 6 tags), no charge for DM. No questions asked or reason needed! They come with the metal back and wire ring as well.

I don't use the metal back, just the plastic card. The metal tag is a safety hazard - it's sometimes so sharp.

Yes, I learned that the hard way... (about it being sharp)
