Need Help with Baggage Allowance
Can someone confirm the baggage allowance for a non-member, travelling TPE <> DOH? The ticket was issued on QR stock with QR-flight number between HKG <> DOH, and TPE <> HKG are on CX/KA flights with CX/KA flight number.
CX websites stated 30 kg for passengers only travelling between DOH <>HKG, and there is a note for passengers booking on the said flights with connections that baggage allowance on the operating carrier applies. Called CX in DOH and was told to contact HKG reservation center, which can cost a lot of IDD charge due to long wait.
QR website states contacting them for details, and, I called QR in DOH and they told me to contact CX for details since they are operating the flight.

The longer flight's baggage allowance will be given for all sectors. If your HKG-DOH-HKG is 30kg , then the onward flight to TPE will also be 30kg.

But is the baggage allowance for HKG <> DOH 30 kg or 20 kg? It shows 20 kg on the ticket. And CX website says 30 kgs only for passenger between HKG <> DOH without connections. QR told me to contact CX in that regard.

Why don't you compromise and take 25kg? CX may allow an additional 5kg if you're over the limit should it be only 20kg..then ask at airport what the true allowance is and then on your return trip you may take 30kg!

Actually, we would like to empty my mother's aprt in Taiwan and put it on a lease. There is approximately 30 kg left after the 70 kg that me and my brother can carry. Was thinking if my father can carry that 30 kg all with him. Otherwise, we might just rent a small storage in Taipei and leave some of my mother's things there instead of moving them all around right now.
But, thank you very much for your suggestion.
