On line Check in

Hi, I have booked a ticket thru travel agent from YYC to HKG via YVR. YYC to YVR is AC and YVR to HKG is CX. How can I do my 24 hrs advance on line check in ? Will it thru the CX website or AC web site ?And is the 24 hrs based on the YYC departure time or YVR departure time ? Thanks very much for your help

I don't think AC has a codeshare arrangement with CX so these are considered 2 separate segments hence you need to OLCI separately at T-24 for each segment.

Eh...code-share is irrelevant in this case. You can OLCI CX's segment 48 hours prior to YVR dep. (CX OLCI uses segment-specific timeframe.) If AC lets you OLCI, you can do that on AC's website for AC's segment.

AC can sometimes issue CX boarding passes

CX opens check in at 48 hours before the YVR-HKG flight.

AC opens check in at 24 hours before the YYC-YVR flight.

Whatever you do, always check-in with AC first. Sometimes when you do OLCI with AC, they may have the ability to also check you in for the onward CX flight.

I've had AC OLCI boarding passes saying "CATHAY PACIFIC" right at the top before!

Do not check-in with CX first. If you do so, AC won't be able to issue your CX boarding pass.

But you can print your own CX BP anyway after doing OLCI, no? I'd say go ahead and do CX OLCI at 48 hours, especially if chasing a low BN on the off chance of an op-up is your thing.

No point chasing for BN when you're statusless.

OP, doesn't sound like you're stopping over at YVR. Curious why you're taking this route, and not just YYZ direct?

OP is CX GO (maybe he just added this?). Also OP flies from YYC not YYZ.

Thanks, missed the YYC part. But no, I don't see the GO part...unless you're refering to CrazyJ82.

I'm not so sure about the AC leg but for the CX leg you should be able to checkin on the CX website with your flight information T-48 the departure time of the CX flight
