Ticket Options

I'm being bought a ticket to fly on Cathay from Canada to Asia. I'm told they are purchasing a full fare economy ticket. If that is the case, does anyone know if will I be able to change the ticket and/or rebook in Premium Economy?

How about you get more details on that ticket from your purchaser first??

I totally agree but Catch 22 I'm in is - I don't trust that they are going to buy me a ticket at the totally changeable fare class, especially when it is more than a reduced biz ticket, yet they say it will be changeable without penalty. I'm trying to weigh buying a Premium Economy ticket myself and getting partially reimbursed vs. spinning the roulette wheel and if I do end up with a truly full fare ticket, then i can change it into a cheap biz ticket (hopefully)...... However I also see that rebooking an Economy Standard ticket is only $50.

I think the real reason I'm obsessing about this is there is a Premium Economy sale from YVR that ends this weekend so was hoping to catch that, but now won't get any real answers till next week.

Thanks for the input

If the issue is that they're going to have a fixed budget for this ticket in any circumstance, isn't it better to just buy the ticket yourself and get reimbursed at whatever the amount is if it sounds like reimbursement is an option?
