Decrease in F Award Tickets Available?
I'm looking for SFO-HKG or reverse for next November and I find very little, if any, for 2 F seats on either direction. I know the current 747 will be replaced by a plane with no F seats, but the 77W that they fly only releases one at most. Anyone have the same experience? It looks like it's harder to find 2 F seats even 11 months out.

It is difficult as there are only six F seats. Giving one seat to awards means losing 1/6 of potential F or A revenue. Many F revenue passengers buy tickets or change the reservations at the last moment. So while it is possible to get two F award seats, it is not usually available unless the passenger or the award sponsor is a DM.
There are a few alternatives:
* Buy business and go for upgrade for the second passenger. The chance of getting an upgrade award will be much higher, although there is still no guarantee.
* Try a detour via YVR or ORD.

Unless you're MPC, the above two posts do not necessary hold any answers for you. I suspect that you're using AAdvantage miles, and if so, this thread may be of better service to you .

Online booking (CX/BA/JL/etc) is not harmonized with AA agent availability. Iow, if you call AA, you'll be told different things then if you check online sources elsewhere. Works for and against you. I've claimed awards from AA agents when competing online sources have nothing. And vice versa. Good luck, Jamie
