Hi,
Just trying to help my folks out... I am not too familiar with Asiamiles. My parents have 25k miles each (total of 50k) but a large chunk of miles will expire by Apr 2015.
We're seeking some advice on how to make best use of the points or how to keep it from expiring... The Asiamiles program does not seem flexible and if there are options, it amounts to a "pay for the option". Just read on their FAQ that it costs US$170 to txfer 10k points to another member acct. Ouch!
Any ideas/suggestions is most appreciated. Many thanks!

Not sure how "flexible" you would expect it to be...

Or if possible, try to transfer some points to your parents from your.credit cards / other loyalty programs.
Alternatively, if you have the miles to burn, you can use your AA miles to redeem a ticket for your parents, then use their own AM for upgrades.

or they can fly within the US. 25K is just short of a round trip redemption of a 2500miles flight oneway (you need 30K miles, which you'll need to transfer in or buy up)

Wouldnt that be like not possible? An AA award would book into the CX award fareclass, and be precluded from the upgradeable fares.
