If you were a DM I would say hold on for an op-up. But as a lowly GR you should call up MPO and request your upgrade now and get on the waitlist.
The above flight data comes from ExpertFlyer which you should consider subscribing to.

Just look at the seatmap for your flight on ExpertFlyer to see exactly how many seats are occupied and how many are still available/on hold. But you don't have the ability to predict whether those seats will get filled up or not between now and your actual flight. Maybe request an upgrade directly from MPO and call a few more times to show that you really are pushing for it?

There's only two seats left in the whole J cabin. Obviously they want to hold onto those seats until last minute for VIP's / DM's / other passengers who might have missed the afternoon flight due to a delay connection, etc.
I would ask again at airport...but I wouldn't get your hopes up so high.
96% chance, you'll be flying in PEY tomorrow.

the instant mileage upgrade is successful, the original Premium Economy boarding pass (30E) is being replaced by a Business class (12K) boarding pass and the Arrivals lounge access invitation at HKG during boarding at YYZ. BN still remains 25.

I have been quite skeptical of Expert Flyer for awhile already. I just got off the same flight as Derek and I gotta say Expert Flyer got it wrong. There was 1 empty seat in J, full in PEY and at least 3 empty seats in Y. Y is where EF got it entirely wrong when it showed Y0 etc many days prior the flight.

How did you get the Arrivals lounge pass as a GR?
