Loading check please!!

Hi guys
Can someone provide me with the loading on the flights from hkg to JFK (29/6, 30/6 and 1/7)
Then on the way back 12/7 and 13/7 (JFK to hkg and lax hkg)

I need the loading for all flights on the day to work out the best seat for me to get v class as I'm currently on wait list

Thanks all!

Unless you work internally in CX or a FA for that flight, there's no such thing as loading check. But there is availability check

I'm only a silver but heading to gold
Will it make any difference if I'm a gold?
What is the benefits - guarantee economy seat for gold? How does it work?

GO = guarantee Y ticket. Get a TA to book you into V-class (if available, sometimes some routes V class isn't available to be booked), then, although TA should do this as well, but sometimes wait for them at MPO line can be up to 1 hour or more, so to be a nice guy, you can offer to call into MPO for them and get MPO to "Guaranteed the seats", tell your TA it is done, they can then issued the ticket for you.

Looking at the availability list provided, as a SL, you may never be cleared for waitlist. Might as well start thinking about plan B... like paying for higher K fare...

So even if the ticket is not issued and I'm only on wait list?
The Cathay in Australia has put me on wait list at the moment
So if I'm a gold then I can call up mpo to guarantee me a seat then get Cathay in Australia to issue me the ticket?

Correct. The GO/DM seat guarantee essentially force-opens inventory to clear you off the waitlist at the lower fare class. (You need to do this at least 72 hours before departure as a GO.) It's a very valuable benefit that I use regularly. Cathay reservations in Australia might be able to do this without needing a second call to MPO.

Agreed. Keep in mind, the danger is that the longer you're waiting for low-fare availability that will probably never materialize, the more likely it becomes that the higher fares like K also sell out. Just for kicks, I also just looked at availability to/from ORD for those dates and the lower fare classes are sold out across the board. When I was a SL, and for no-status friends more recently, at busy times the waitlist for lower fares often never clears. At this point, you should assume that whatever fare you see available for purchase right now (K or higher) is the cheapest you're going to get.

Can I do something like this as I will be gold half way thru the itinerary?

I am currently sitting at 47579 club miles.

I will issue my syd-hkg-nyc-hkg-syd now

Syd – hkg – v class
Hkg – nyc – k class

Lax – syd via hkg – v class (whichever date is available for now)

After the syd – hkg and hkg – nyc, it will give me (4592 + 8059) = 12651 club miles which will hit me to Gold, then I can call up the MPO to change the date for LAX – SYD via HKG on the date I want in Y with the gold benefits? + paying the change fee?

If the dates you wanted to change have V-fare open for waitlist, then yes.

You need to leave a day or two for the miles to post, another day or so for the system to recognize your status, and then at least 72 hours to seat guarantee.

Also, one thing I'd check on -- others here should know this -- does the seat guarantee circumvent other fare restrictions like advance-purchase rules? Meaning, if a V fare has an advance purchase requirement of 7 days, can you seat guarantee into V at 72 hours before departure? Or does it simply mean that if you're booking 8 days before departure and V was sold on that flight but is now full, you can seat-guarantee into it because otherwise you're meeting all the rules?

As a general rule, MPO published benefits trumps other guidelines.

If you issue it as one way fares than yes.(SYD-JKF stop over in HKG) but if round trip than I'm not 100% sure if GO seat guarantee would work. but if it does please do report back, would be great for data point for future.

RT works. It's a V class ticket, as GO he gets V or higher guaranteed. He's switching one V class ticket to another date. I've done it many times, switching tickets to dates that are oversold, but since I'm DM, guaranteed, no problme.

However, my understanding of OP's case....only Sydney-HK has been confirmed as V. HKG-JFK//LAX-HKG-SYD will be something like K/B.
OP still haven't secured a V fare for the LAX-HKG-SYD segment yet....
