Minimum transfer time at DXB?

Hi all,

Does anyone know if DXB has written-down minimum transfer time recommendations like HKG?

I am flying HKG-DXB-AMM next month on two separate flights -- HKG-DXB on CX arrives at 0600 and DXB-AMM on RJ departs at 0715. Is that enough time?

Thanks!

Maybe try giving the DXB forum a try. Members there might be more familiar with your question...

bigintangibles, you seem to be out of luck:

[KVS Availability Tool 7.1.7 - Reference: Minimum Connection Time [MCT]: DXB/CX-RJ]

Hi *jagmeets* -- thanks for the response. I'm afraid I've never used the tool you're quoting, could you explain it to me? What do the numbers signify?

Minimum transfer time at DXB?

CX-ALL is the row that you re looking for, and terminal 1-1 (I think both CX and RJ are in T1).

II (last column)=> international to Intenational transfer is what you need to see.

Needs 90 mins to be a legit connection.

Ah ok, cool -- kind of strange that only for CX it's 90 minutes but for everyone else, it's 75 minutes. Out of curiousity, do you know why that might be?

Probably because CX planes usually park at the very end of the terminal and DXB T1 is huge (like a shopping mall) and no shuttle train.

Yeah, true, that's been my experience at DXB with CX.

Do you folks reckon this will be the case even if I have no check-in luggage, check-in online and print my boarding pass beforehand? My problem is the next RJ flight is six hours later, and I lose a working day sitting in the airport...

90 minutes is the minimum 'legal' connection time....but since you're on two different e-tickets....no one's stopping you from risking it.

But it's not something I would recommend though.....

Even if you were within that 90 minute window and arrived late....you wouldn't be covered anyways. How is RJ's flexibility? Will they easily put you on the next flight?

Thanks everyone for the replies -- I'll play it safe and take an earlier flight from HKG, and spend overnight in DXB to avoid losing too much in the way of business hours. Much appreciated!
