Time for MH flights to post?

Anyone with experience on how long it takes for MH flights to post to Marco Polo? I took a flight about 12 days ago, and still no posting for the MH flight.

My experience with MH was great. I had purchased one of their super cheap J fares to SYD, and the food onboard was superb. Probably some of the best food I've ever had on a flight, and one of the dishes, a fish dish, was comparable to a good restaurant on the ground.

Unfortunately, MH is phasing out the J seats on their 777, as the J seats on the A330 were quite uncomfortable. The cushioning is very hard, and made me numb in the bum as well as in my skull. I might give them another try and maybe I'll have a better experience, but the A330 seats really are a turn-off. I don't mind the slopey seats for the price, but the hardness was really bad.

Once they have the A380 on HKG-KUL and if they send the A380 to SYD, then it will be a no brainer to choose MH over CX if you have the time for transits.

I find that generally CX's fares are stilll cheaper than MH on the HKG-KUL route.

And MH's Economy Promo....MH Basic....MH Smart....all earns nothing with CX MPC/Asia Miles. Only starting with the "MH Flex" fares....which by that price, is almost very similar to their business promo pricing.

sxc Mar 20, 2013 2:04 am

Yes - I was referring to the MH fares in Business class which can be the same price as CX in Y on the HKG-Australia fares.

Mrtnw Mar 20, 2013 2:14 am

I just booked myself MH J class Europe-BKK.
End of last year I took CX J (I class) but I-fare has gone up almost 21% since. MH is now 7% cheaper than what I paid on CX. Total difference of almost 30%!

Just hope the miles post on time as I need to maintain status and I`m pushing it to the cut-off date.

It's been over a month now since I took my MH flight eligible for Asia Miles and nothing has been credited.

Overall, I was not impressed with MH. The FCL lounge at KLIA was sub-par and the quality of wine was very cheap (Jacob's Creek).

Not very keen in taking MH to be honest. I'll stick with CX.

So be it then.

I'm happy with MH and am glad that they are offering great fares to many places. The lounge is adequate, and the food offerings are great. Your flights not crediting is not an issue with MH but could be with CX. My flights all credited correctly with AAdvantage.

Just an update, I filed a missing mileage request by faxing my details to the club. They emailed me and said that I needed to send original boarding passes. I called them, and was told that depending on the airline they sometimes need original boarding passes. eg BA they can accept faxed copies, but MH wants the original boarding passes. Don't know why a paper copy of the boarding pass is required in the world of e-ticketing but anyway...

Still waiting for the mileage...

I took some MH flights in March as well and had to file mileage claims - after several calls and emails, MPC has accepted scanned copy of the boarding passes (which I am grateful for). Was told to wait 6 to 8 weeks for the posting. Not sure if the problem lies with CX or MH.

bagold Apr 30, 2013 9:38 pm

No problem when I credited to AA. Could be a CX problem.

Problem with Z fares crediting

I have had a couple of MH flights not crediting

Flew in

late Feb in B - 2 flights
Late Feb J - 1 flight
March Z - 5 flights
Mid april Z - 2 flights

All have not credited. I am missing 12 sectors as a result. Some flights later then these have credited. Have also filed a missing miles claim with MPC and sent in my original boarding passes in early april for my Feb flights. Unfortunately no news as yet one month later and no indication from them they ever received my request.

kaka May 2, 2013 8:29 pm

our fumitani also had problems crediting (JL) his MH J flights to europe, so i dont think this is only a CX problem

Mrtnw May 3, 2013 5:35 am

Still waiting for 4 MH flights (counting for 5 segments) to hit my MCP account. Never had this issue with AA, BA (or MX).

My TG flight that I took in between the MH segments hit my LH account within 2 working days.

i recently flew Y on MH (H class fare). On Thursday i sent in the mail the following:
- missing miles request form
- original boarding passes
- print out of e-ticket and purchase confirmations received via email

Miles + sectors were credited late Friday night so ~36 hours

Very respectable turnaround time IMO

CX261 May 25, 2013 3:04 pm

Was wondering the same thing last week, FYI flight was 10MAY, crediting date 17MAY. So looks like one week.

By the way, hello CX forum, long time lurker, first time poster, just keep reading threads I think I can answer some questions in!

Cheers

sxc May 25, 2013 8:17 pm

I'm still waiting for my miles to post almost a month after mailing my boarding passes.

cyncynangel May 27, 2013 5:05 pm

mine has been good
took them less than 1 week to have it post...

i think around 3 days? my flight was back in april

sxc May 27, 2013 7:32 pm

I think mine are probably an anomaly - booked before MH officially became part of OW, and flown after the joining date. Don't know why it's taking CX so long to rectify though.

sxc Jun 18, 2013 12:47 am

Just to close this off - got my J 125% miles for the Z class fare posted about 6 weeks after I mailed in my boarding passes.

jakesterUK Jun 18, 2013 2:50 pm

Still waiting for 2 flights to credit to BA Executive Club, Z-Class Business fare, and additional 2 flights just flown are also expected to be a problem. Others who choose to earn on BAEC have had similar problems, just mentioning so you know it's not just Marco Polo members that are affected. Early problems with J & D appear to have been reduced in frequency, Z-Class appears to remain a problem at this time.

hkgflyer Jun 19, 2013 10:38 pm

I'm having the same problem. Flew Z class business and submitted boarding passes and e ticket receipt. Now got a response that said the the request was rejected since the miles were credited to another account.

Not sure how that's possible as the boarding passes have my MP account printed on there. This is ridiculous.

turntheheatdown Jun 21, 2013 3:32 pm

I cannot believe that miles from March and April have not posted. While I did not keep the boarding cards I checked that every one had the CX number and MH have confirmed it all in writing but CX won't post. Oneworld? I don't think so........I will now lose over 50,000 miles apparently.

You need to turn down the heat. :p
It's unfortunate that you no longer have your boarding pass. It's always a good idea to keep them, especially when travelling on partner airlines.
Try calling MPO and explain to them your situation. Sometimes they accept copies of electronic ticket/receipt as proof.

lesteryen Jul 3, 2013 9:13 am

I have flown MH Z class to Europe earlier this month, and my mileage did not get posted on my Marco Polo Club account despite my Marco Polo Club number shows up on ALL boarding passes.

I have mailed my original boarding passes back to the Marco Polo Club via registered mail. The mail should have been delivered yesterday, but up till now, nothing showed up in the "Missing mileage claim" section.

I have called up the Marco Polo Club tonight, trying to follow up, and cannot get connected to a single agent. I have been put on hold for more than 10 minutes each call, and still could not get connected to an agent. This is TERRIBLE service. :td:

Just cause it arrived at CX doesn't = it have arrived at the respective department. Nor is it the only case they have to work on. Give it a week or so.

Only 10 minutes??! Must be your first time calling into MPC

sxc Jul 3, 2013 11:04 pm

It took maybe 1-2 weeks after mailing for the record to appear on my MPO profile.

donald2993 Jul 16, 2013 3:57 am

Time for MH flights to post?

FYI - I took MH flight (4 legs) from May23 to Jun 10. The miles were not posted as of July 10. Of course I did not keep original boarding pass !!

Call MPC on Jul 11th spoke to them nicely, explain that I gave all the numbers before flying, today (16th) the miles were credited to my MPC account.

It can happen! There is hope!

Good luck.

Took me about 30 minutes last night to connect to Manila (time to write and post post#1 of http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/catha...ul-2013-a.html to 10:23PM).

And about 10 minutes for Beijing but don't expect them to do anything not absolutely allowed in the rules now (ibid)

lesteryen Jul 16, 2013 7:03 am

I have received a computer generated email from CX Marco Polo last week that my missing mileage claim for 3 MH sectors were rejected due to nonsense reasons such as, class ineligible for mileage accrual (I bought MH Z class which I should be able to accrue mileage), passenger name not on passenger list (I boarded the flight and have my Marco Polo Club number printed on the MH Boarding Pass), as well as mileage credited to another program (well, my CX Marco Polo number and status was clearly printed on my MH Boarding Pass).

I have called up CX Marco Polo and they promised they would follow up for me about this. A few days later, all the missing mileage were credited to my Marco Polo account.

I flew MH in Z Class PEK-KUL-PEN-KUL-BLR-KUL-PEK from 19/12 to 03/01 and none of the miles have credited so far, but will wait the CX-advised six weeks before submitting a mileage claim form.

Mercifully I have the original boarding passes, but is there any guidance on how long they typically take to post these days?

I think there's a good chance it won't post and you will have to file a claim with CX for the missing miles. My AA and QR miles usually show up within a week or so but MH miles - i have to file a claim each time (my last MH flight was several months ago).

I had to claim 3 out of 4 of my last MH Z-class trip. The other leg (third leg of my trip) did show up after almost 3 weeks.

I have not seen mine also (travel date 3/1, 5/1, 12/1). I have a feeling nothing will post. What will happen if I claim missing miles now? Will CX reject it?

lingua101 Jan 17, 2014 11:15 am

My KUL-SIN segment on 12-Jan has been posted now. But none on the first 3 segments. I guess must submit retro form now....

BTW can I submit the retro via email instead of fax? Any idea what is the email address?

perhaps irrelevant given non-MH..still.. Had a bunch of flights on LAN last month..miles didn't post for a few days and just the first segment posted on the T+9th day or something ...this being the tier roll month for both myself and the wife (and a few 'optimization' retro claims pending) , I just faxed in the claim form/ ticket/ boarding passes and the miles posted a couple of days later...

And an interesting snippet..the miles show up as 'regular' miles in both our accounts on the website. However, if i look up our accounts on CX Mobile, these flights show as 'Missing mileage request / accept' for me, and as 'normal' miles in my wife's account. (Same flights, both had MPC numbers on, fax sent at the same time. .well, a 15 sec difference, but wife's form/docs were first)

AussieCR Jan 17, 2014 9:56 pm

I may just be extremely lucky :D but my MH have always posted in just a few days.. my most recent below;

17 Jan 2014 15 Jan 2014 Malaysia Airline

17 Jan 2014 12 Jan 2014 Malaysia Airline
