Gifting Krug?

Has CX ever gifted anyone a bottle of champagne (Krug?)
I don't like drinking on the plane and was planning to buy a bottle of champange to celebrate my Bday the next evening in HK. If I tell the FA that I don;t plan on drinking during the flight but would love to be gifted a bottle for later to celebrate my b-day, do you think they would/could?

In a way it'd feel a bit weird asking but if I'm not drinking during the flight, I'd love to have some to celebrate my bday the next day.

Many years ago I was gifted a bottle of Krug on an AKL-HKG flight (back when the route had F service). I didn't ask and it was a pleasant surprise. Carried it all the way home to NY and had it that Christmas.

What does a bottle of krug go for anyway? $150?
I guess it depends on load?

I guess they could but wouldn't it be a little awkward asking? You might put the FA in an awkward position. Your in F Pax and they must look after you very well, yet they are not suppose to gift full bottles of krug.

Whether it was an revenue ticket....

Or an award upgrade from J.....or straight up F Award ticket, it would have taken quite a bit of AM/credit card spending to accumulate a F ticket.

if you play if right you only need 10000HKD to "buy up" miles for F award with Krug. but anyways, i know they can do it if you have the guts to ask, and if they have a "good" crew that flight. just dont expect it. Not drinking at all is a v good reason tho

How many bottles do they usually carry per flight?

OP: if it was a half bottle, will you still take it?

Not when you are not using AM though. They were some good sign up bonus in the US for other programs
