I'm sure by refurbishment, they mean refurbishment. That means new seat covers, fixing the fascia, maybe new carpet. That type of thing.

I think you are right. I have done about 20 long haul flights in F over the last 12 months. The product is just great. I tend to get on board and go to sleep. Its nice to wake up and have your breakfast in bed, with fresh eggs and toast etc.The cabins are getting worn for sure and I think it would be in best interest of CX to spend money keeping the cabins tip top.

If you look at some of the new business class cabins they are already showing some serious wear and tear in places.

No? Even at up right just press the leg rest button and the foot rest will extend.

Wow, that looks much better. Way better colors, makes the product look newer again. The new colors + new materials will have the seats looking brand new again, which will mean they can last until 747s and A340s are retired.

Ofcourse the product remains the same, but at least it no longer will look worn out. This refresh is still better than many current J class products....

Yes
So when you press the LEG rest to come up and if you keep on pressing it there is an end part that will extend that acts as a FOOT rest. And if it is not long enough that means you are quite tall and can use the ottoman.

So in short, (excuse the pun) for short people this setup should work fine. For tall people the ottoman will be there to support the foot.

Why don't they just put Cirrus seats instead, if they are putting new ones anyway (I suppose that's what refurbish means)?

Refurbish means making a existing product like new again by means of major repairs, part replacement, etc.

OK...I see. Is it a lot cheaper than putting up new (Cirrus) seats?

certainly

i have read on a passage before saying that one F-class seat costs as much as a Mercedes Benz private car! Not sure about J-class though, but I guess it won't differ by a lot
