Does anyone have any info on how the renovation of the Wing is going? All I can find is that the First Class section will reopen in the 4th quarter of 2012.

I'm flying F in late October and would love to check it out.

Originally I thought CX was aiming for a late 4Q 2012 opening (Dec-ish), so I think regardless Oct is probably a little too early. My information is stale - looking from the poster above, it may have even slipped slightly.

Do you fly through HKIA often? If not, and depending on where you're flying to, I recommend checking out the new J side of the Wing. IMO it's superior to the old F Wing....lots of food (although not as formal as the old Haven), and very airy. Lots of different types of seating areas. There is a small separate F section but it's nothing to write home about. Overall though the lounge is great, especially if it's not crowded. Or check out The Cabin. Despite them not being formal F lounges, I think they both have a better vibe than The Pier F.

If you're flying to the USA, chances are high you'll be leaving from Gates 3, 4 or 21, all of which are close to The Wing and The Cabin.

Actually I find the quality of the food to be much better in F class Haven than the new J wing

Sorry guys..I'm a newbie here.
I will be flying First Class on Cathay (Departing LAX. Arriving HKG) this Dec.
Will I be able to access the First Class Lounge (The Wing) in HKG when I land?
Or would I need a 1st class departing ticket?

If you are in transit and connecting to another flight, as long as you are arriving in First Class you can access the First Class lounge (at the moment The Pier only) by showing your inward boarding pass.

If you are not in transit and ending your journey in Hong Kong, you can access The Arrivals Lounge which is landside. You will not have access to any of the airside lounges in this case.

Hello all

I was in the F section on Sunday (as the revamped J area which yes, is nice, was super crowded) and got to thinking...

I was a huge fan of the Haven at the Wing and I always get happy if my departing gate is closer to the Pier so I can use the F lounge there. What would CX have done with all of the wonderful (Hans Wagner I think) chairs and tables from the Wing? Just thrown them out? or are they getting dusty in a warehouse somewhere? It would be criminal (even if they were a bit worn towards the end) if they were just thrown out...

Still closed.
The Pier was very full from what I saw a few days ago, but I would rather have that than the HX lounge.

I think transitting to a CX / KA FLT is needed in this case - not any FLT.

Yep, CX was aiming for end 2012 (I'd been told start of Dec) but this has now slipped to Q1 2013 according is CX PR.
