Urgent Request

Hi,

Not sure if this is the correct way or place to ask, but - is anyone holding a D/I class seat on CX251 on 25th July that they do not require, but have forgotten to cancel???

Trying (with no luck) to get waitlist to clear so I can make it home in time for a meeting!

Thanks!

Is it possible for you to take 253 the same day?
Please be note that as 251 is consider a prime flight (which arrives LHR before 6am) hence the tight availability. Together with the Olympic games I doubt your waitlist will clear.... 24 hour before flight will basically firm things up with no more change.

Cant make it on the 253, unfortunately. There is no space on 255 either.

I can fly to AMS, but I be able to reroute without a penalty?

Doesnt seem like i'll have much luck...

Where did you make the booking from?

In any case, you need to call CX and ask them for a priority waitlist. And ask them to send a message to Inventory Control to try and release the seat for you - based on your MPC status.

Usually CX releases extra seats within 48 hours of travel which they need to hold back for DM members. Even though its J class, it does affect all Business Class inventories.

you probs know its T10 in HK now. seats will be at premium when flights resume. i'd suggest either tell CX you'd like to upsell to J/C or get a sepearte HKG-LHR-HKG for nesting, if cost allows.

WOW!! First T10 since 1999! HKIA seems still operating as usual, so hopefully OP is not affected.

Ok I see in the recent hour or so (since around midnight) it seems that no FLT has departed or arrived, but I don't think HKIA is closed (although those of you who live in HK definately get more information than I do), and only a few FLTs was re-routed to other destinations. Since there aren't that many FLTs that depart after midnight (I know some that depart before midnight has not yet departed), and likely by the morning T10 will no longer be in effect, so I don't think OP is that much affected.

OK...I guess the effect is greater than what I thought. Yes, some FLTs (including LHR) are cancelled now and the chance that OP can get on another FLT is now likely close to 0.

I disagree. Between missed connections and cancelled business bookings (missed meetings), I'd say the suspension of operations increase the OP's chances of standing by. Be sure to let us know.

But there are also stranded passengers at HKG right now due to cancellation of CX251 on 23rd and CX255 on 24th to LHR
