CX Return Boarding Pass: SIN - CMB

First time poster but a lurker on this thread for a while.

Thinking of doing the CMB mileage run (CMB - SIN - HKG - PEK) and needed to setup a positioning flight there. But don't really have the time to spead a night in CMB and don't really want to clear customs. So had a few questions:

Option 1/ Ex SIN: When I check in at SIN to CMB (ex SIN 21:30 arrive CMB 22:40), will I be able to get my return CX boarding pass at SIN for the return flight (ex CMB 0040?)

Option 2/ Ex HKG: Taking it a step back, if I book i) HKG - SIN - CMB will I be able to get my return CMB - SIN boarding pass at HKG?

Sorry if sounds a bit confusing - my wife thinks i'm crazy with all these routes!

For Option 1, SIN can issue your return boarding pass. I have done a similar thing before.

Just wanted to find out how you did it.
I did this last weekend and staff at SIN (one trainee and one regular one) basically said that it could not be done - I had to get boarding passes in CMB at the end.

I would like to share my experiences on 2 separate trips from SIN-BKK-SIN. On both trips, the departure out of SIN is on Sat and returning on next day, Sunday.

During the first trip, I was not issued the return BP from BKK-SIN as I was told that this is not possible.

On the 2nd trip (which is a month after the first trip), during check-in, I was issued both SIN-BKK and BKK-SIN BP without having me to ask for it.

I guess you need an experienced agent to print the return BP.

On page 42 of the CX timetable in print, it states SIN-BKK-SIN as one of the routes where the return boarding pass can be printed in advance inf returning on the same or next day, but SIN-CMB is not mentioned.

On a related note, has anyone actually transited Colombo (CMB) airport?

I have a 95-minute connection and would rather prefer avoiding immigration, customs, check-in, and emmigration if I can.

I have - and my tip. 95mins is sufficient time in my opinion. My view is if there is a queue at the transfer counter (operated by Sri Lankan Air), be patient and wait there instead of clearing immigration and coming back in (which involves a lot of queueing too!)

Yeah that's interesting, however it seemed that kevkmkwok could get his return CMB boarding passes printed in advance?

I'm going to be on TG to TG (so same aircraft) in business class both ways. I am hopeful TG will be able to print both boarding passes for me in Bangkok or will have the agent who meets the aircraft at CMB ready with my boarding pass for me.
