I plan to book an F award JFK- Bali and can transfer miles from my starwood account to BA or AA. seems like r/t in first on AA is 135K and on BA is 260K. could that be right?

Yes that sounds about right. AA first award is cheaper than BA business award. BA price their premium cabins as a multiple of the price of economy (J is 2x, F is 3x). However be sure to check that AA can book the flight you want before transferring the miles. At present it appears that BA can have better availability of CX awards than AA does (ie, don't assume that just because BA/QF/JL web sites say award space is available that AA will be able to see it too).

As question is about AA or BA award requirements to redeem on CX, it is best if further discussion is asked over at the appropriate forums.

The CX forum is for questions relating to CX Asia Miles and the Marco Polo Club.
