Sorry if this is a double post, or if this has been talked about already. But I am wondering if I am reading Cathay's website right. Is there NO limit to the number of checked in bags if I am flying from LAX to HKG? Per the website, it looks like there is NO restrictions.

Can someone please help confirm this.

There are only no restrictions on flights that are NOT to/from the Americas. Therefore, as a flight originating from LAX, you would be limited to 2 pieces in Y/J/F that is no more than 23kg (Y) each or 32kg (J/F) each.

The details are listed on the CX website here (the second chart after you click on Free Baggage Allowance)

For other destinations, its any number of bags - but TOTAL weight must not be more than 20kgs ALTOGETHER !

thanks everyone for your replies. I was reading the free baggage allowance wrong and didn't see the word EXCEPT.
