Waitlist Priority
In a scenario where 2 people on the same PNR are award waitlisted for a higher class that only has 2 remaining seats (period) and CX decides to only release 1 award seat would someone else (a single person on a PNR and also award waitlisted) jump ahead of the 2 people on the one PNR and snag one of the seats, thereby effectively thwarting the chance of the two people getting both seats? Just trying to better understand how award wait listing works. Thanks!

I dont think so. Your statement would be true in the case of being on the list for an op-up. You should be called up and asked which of you want to take the upgrade in this case.
